A 9-1 twist barrel would be way to fast and produce poor accuracy with any 5.56 ammo
...However, if it's 1-9 twist it should shoot the lighter 5.56 loads just fine (55-65gr). I'd go red dot, I believe I remember you wanting this for HD (and ...maybe shooting pigs?). But a scope would be a terrible idea for HD. A fighting rifle is setup to shoot minute-of-man/animal/steel gong, not shooting .5 MOA groups. Build a 20"+ HBAR if you want an AR for tight groups at distance.
