IF there is other intelligent life out there that is somewhat humanoid, will they have an economic system more similar to central planning or free markets?
Let's say we keep on advancing at this rate and don't annihilate each other/aren't destroyed by our machines. We will eventually figure out matter replication, and that invention alone will destroy the conventional economy as we know it. Money would be useless once we can create anything on our own, not to mention the ability to build our own worlds within the Singularity. Once we become that advanced, the only economy really would be increasing our knowledge as a species, since no one would starve anymore and have roughly everything they want and need. The 3D printer is a scary enough economic game changer, just imagine when we can turn anything into food?
