NFL Draft Geek had this to say:
quote:

Last year the Saints thrived in their switch to the 3-4, but this year Rob Ryan's crew has gone back to a base 4-3 with mostly nickel sets. The results have been disastrous. Apparently they don't feel they have three linebackers who are good enough to play consistently, so if Rob Ryan still has a job next year you can bet it will be on the top of their priority list to get some playmaking linebackers. No better solution would be adding the nation's most dynamic pass rusher in the lightning quick Shane Ray. Thanks to a lethal first step and non-stop energy, Ray led the SEC in sacks with 12.5. Taking Ray and moving Junior Gallette back to OLB would allow the Saints to go back to the 3-4 with two qualified edge rushers.

Uh... Galette played standing a lot more this year than last year. We played almost no 3-4 last year (3-3-5 with 3 safeties mostly). We played a shite ton of traditional 3-4 and 4-3 (depending on if Galette was standing or not) this year as opposed to 75% nickel last year.

So he's saying we should draft a Galette and move Galette to OLB where he can't cover and will mostly be rushing.

Nope. We need someone that can cover first. If they can rush that is a bonus. Whoever wrote that has no clue what the frick they are talking about.

How in the hell do you feel you have no linebackers to play 3-4 when it's the same crew from last year, that was supposed to be improved.
