Its been a bad year for flu in Baton Rouge. Tons of positive flu A and B from nasal swabs. There are so many tests ordered, we almost need one person doing flu tests all day.

Sad thing about the nasal swab is that it's only 50% sensitive on a good year. The '09 H1N1 test was something like 10% sensitive (for others who would like clarification, that means that for every 10 people that had H1N1 (swine) flu, only 1 tests positive with the nasal swab. Likewise, 50% means that half the people that do ACTUALLY have it test negative)
