I edited this post to remove my reply to RiseUp regarding the AISA. This thread is about Tega not the AISA.

As far as Prince Tega Junior goes...he is very talented...a natural football player. He should be offered a ton of Division 1A scholarships in football... because he is 6'8 245lbs and runs a 4.6 forty and loves contact!

Well it is an interesting story. He could be an All-American or decide college football is not for him.

Really..the AISA in 1A through 3A would be very competitive in the NOLA league.

I grew up in the AISA. Attended two different AISA schools and played ball in the AISA. My brother played ball in the AISA, won 3 state titles in 3A and didn't play with anyone that got a football scholarship. My cousin played ball in the AISA. I went to an AISA school for free because I was a great football player by their standards, then I moved to a public school in Florida that is far from a football powerhouse and found out that I was indeed not a great football player in the grand scheme of things. There is minimal talent in the league. Howard, Drew Davis, Tega, and the little scat back from Bessemer a few years ago are the only SEC level talents in the last decade. You're grossly exaggerating the talent in the AISA. Yea some kids make a roster as walk ons, but very very few kids from the AISA go on to be contributors at the division 1 level, much less stars.

There isn't a team in the AISA right now, Edgewood included, that would compete in the catholic league. You're talking about a league that sends multiple kids every year to high level programs on a scholarship. Sometimes multiple kids on one team. Please don't pretend like the league is even close to the catholic league. I was an adamant defender of the AISA for the longest time, but then I started playing public school ball. It's a little different when you're playing with and against black kids every Friday, to be blunt.
