Those are still braces correct?
Yes, they are. They are hard to notice. No one at work knew I had them. I did have to go into the dentist office like every 2-3 weeks to get them adjusted.

I didn't wear my retainer and my teeth shifted slightly. I finished up Invisalign about 2 years ago and it went great. My price was $2,800 though and treatment was 9 months. I would shop around.

Braces are a strict no go and I believe 6 months smile is still braces. The ortho said that Invisalign was my best bet.

Isn't this for vaginas?

I have no prior teeth fixtures/alignments so they are fixing some spaces and an overbite so I would assume double the amount of time and money that you paid for slightly shifted teeth sounds right.

You know why he said that Invisalign was your best bet, right?

It really depends on your bite and what type of movements they need to do. Invisalign is restricted to certain movements of the teeth. As a previous poster once said: do not do six month smiles. I am surprised they are allowed by the ADA to continue to put people through that. Another option to look at is Ceramic brackets that are harder to see than the metal braces but are still braces. One of the brands is called Clarity if you want to look them up online.

I told her braces were out of the question when she bought it up, I simply can't have them. I don't know too much about surgeries but I'm sure they cost more than invisalign

Do it, you won't regret it. It's going to hurt like hell for the first week or so, then it won't bother you much anymore. Only pain is having to floss and brush everytime you eat something, and you have to clean the braces regularly because they start to get pretty nasty.

For that price you had to have been doing what is called "Express 10" or "Express 5". It costs the dentist less and it means what it says. You probably had either 10 or 5 sets of aligners. Let me know, I'm curious if you actually got a full case that cheap. If you did your dentist made almost no profit.

Are you in the dental field?

I really appreciate that link, the ortho I went to is only 1 of 2 preferred providers in my area. Good to know.
This is very important. If she is a preferred provider she has done enough cases to know what she is doing (most likely). Don't be afraid to ask her how long she has been doing Invisalign. Ask her if she has any before and after photos of her own patients. I find this helps the process.

No problem. Let me know if you have any more questions. I have to go for now but will check later today some time.
