I can easily see us beating this Chicago team. We should beat this Chicago team. With our flaws, we're a much better team.
That doesn't mean we will.

How does 5-8-1 equal a higher winning percentage than 5-8?

Just hide Cutler's meds, we win.

Why the edit?
Want to expand on that?
A team that is 5-8-1 won 5 out of their 14 games, or .358 winning %. A team that is 5-8 won 5 out of 13, or .385. I get that a tie is used in the tiebreaking scenario, but it doesn't make sense to calculate it under winning %.
So the question was legit. A tie counts as .5 wins and .5 losses according to NFL rules. Seems like an unnecessary/stupid rule to me.
A team that is 8-8 should not be tied with a team that is 7-7-2 IMO. The goal is to win the game.

You must not see their inconsistent running game, injured star receiver, and bad oline. This is a winnable game, more than the Pittsburgh game at least.
You must have missed the fact that Carolina scored 41 points on our pathetic defense, our star receiver is on IR, and our offensive line is just as terrible.

No, he didn't miss that. He just understands that the Bears defense has given up 50 points twice, and 40+ points 3x this year.
Saints have a bad defense. We're ranked 30th in scoring D. The Bears are 32nd

our star receiver is o IR,
Cooks has potential, but he is not our star receiver and doesn't compare to Brandon Marshall.

Yet is much better than the Bears oline. Ours can at least run block
To act like we have no chance is just stupid.
You're looking at just the Saints and ignoring the flaws of our opponent. They are even more dysfunctional than we are.

I am not saying we have no chance. I am saying I do not see how we beat Chicago in Soldier Field in December when a pathetic Panthers team made us look like a Pop Warner team in the Dome just one week ago.
Pretending like we will just curb stomp Chicago is just as stupid as assuming the Saints have no chance.

Sounds pretty similar. It is pretty easy to see how we can beat Chicago in Soldier Field where they are 2-4 this season. They can't run the ball, they can't throw the ball, and they have a worse defense than us. They are the Saints with a much worse offense with even more flaws

No one is really acting like it. Saying that you can't see how we can win is ridiculous though.
Will we blow them out? Probably not. We certainly have the capability. We could also get blown out. Hell, we handled a much better Pitt team just 2 weeks ago then followed it with Carolina. We are the better team from almost every statistical angle. There is a reason we are favored on the road this week.
You're only looking at half the map and claiming to have an understanding of the route.
And the result of the game doesn't make you correct/incorrect. We have a good chance, as the favorite, to win this game. Just depends what Saints team shows up
