They (suddenlink) shut down my internet friday for using my Ouya and side-loaded popcorn time (uses torrents to stream) to stream the first episode of true detective a month ago before realizing i had HBOGO login and finished the season on that.

They shut my internet off a month later (friday) and I had to call them to clear it up.

From what I discerned, they have certain sites they flag for traffic, because I've downloaded tons of other shite from a private tracker and they didnt say anything about those.

Intellectual Property holders contract out companies that download torrents of movies, tv shows, etc. They record all of the IP addresses they connected with to download the torrent, then send copyright violation notices to the ISPs of the IP addresses. Private trackers are good at keeping these companies out. Suddenlink has no employees that seek out violators, they just respond to violation notices they get.

Me personally, I had strike 9 last week. One more and my account will be suspended for 6 months they said. I've used a VPN for 2 months, but I think the connection auto-terminated in the middle of the night after a movie had finished downloading, but was still sharing.
