i don't disagree with you…but the whole mantra of the BCS (and presumably) this system was to avoid awarding the hot team at the end. if you flip the VT game to last night and the Wisc game to September, does OSU still get in?

And i agree with you on LSU 2003…but not 2007. we looked pretty average against a mediocre Tenn team. i think the body of work got us in more than anything.

obviously if OSU got that sort of QB play, that game would have been different. also you have to imagine OSU would already be an undefeated big10 champ with 12 wins going into that VT game. they'd have been a clear #1 in the rankings. would a close loss due to a recent QB injury drop them to 5? doubtful

i mean even in the BCS, we saw a handful of teams lose their last game and make the final 2. OSU would be right there

same applies to OSU

getting that 13th game + another good win + being crowned a champ does make a difference
