No, they didn't. TT had one loss at the time the ballot was cast. Just like Oklahoma and just like Texas. Both OU and TT lost their bowl games to get their second loss on the year. This was a big deal back in 2008 because the BCS was the tiebreaker for the division.

I stand corrected. Texas Tech beat Texas but got blown out by Oklahoma. I must have confused 2008 with something from another year.
