That's such an inexact science for something so important. Short by an inch? Well, you know, maybe he actually made it but the chain guy was off.

I think it's pretty funny that for every down that's not a first down, the spot can be off by a few inches and nobody cares. If it's a potential first down though? that quarter of an inch is life or death
