I want Miles to stay but I am getting fed up with all the crap about whether he stays or leaves. All this speculation while we have the LSU staff out on the road busting their arse recruiting players.
Well Miles is out recruiting as we speak. Checking up on several recruits including 5 star Toliver 5 star Jefferson, and 4 star OT Sweet.
Also supposed to have a nice bunch including #1 overall player OT Ivey coming in this weekend to LSU.
I'm pretty sure they know what's up.

Well not exactly as we speak, but was just recently with Malik and supposedly with a few in Florida today, one being Toliver.

So when have I acted like an insider? Please explain yourself.
Also if you ventured to the recruiting board instead of randomly sounding off like a senile old man, you'd know this stuff as well.

Why should he if he can leverage it for additional salary or a contract extension? He would be a fool to play against his own best interest.

Not interested in the opinion of someone who doesn't know whether the word agents should be capitalized or not.

That is an awfully definitive statement augmented by an underlined word, given that there have been books and articles and people, credible people, indicating otherwise.
I'm not saying he definitely has or hasn't. I think the number of people who know for sure is relatively small. And you're not one of them.

I think Miles is staying as well............
But no need for me to speculate what he may be doing.......

I'm sure Miles couldn't give 2 fux what you think about this situation.
Posted on 12/4/14 at 6:04 pm to STRIPES
Why should he? He will pledge his undying allegiance to LSU when he signs for an extension and a pay raise. Until then he will act oblivious to the whole matter. The man is no fool. He just acts like one sometimes.

I'm not speculating. It has been mentioned that he was in Florida visiting recruits earlier. Their was a freaking picture with Miles and Malik on one of the home links just a few days ago.

John U Bacon
quote:After Rich Rod was fired..
In 2008, Bacon was granted unrestricted access to Michigan’s football program, from the meals and the meetings, to the practices and the games, to the sidelines and the locker rooms. Nothing and no one was off limits. From that perspective he produced his latest work, Three and Out: Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan Wolverines in the Crucible of College Football ]quote:
On Friday, December 7, and again on Monday, December 10, Bill Martin, Mary Sue Coleman and Les Miles talked on a conference call. Both conversations were simple and pleasant. During the second call, Coleman said she could not hire Miles without meeting him first, and asked Miles to meet her and Martin in Miami, where Miles had already scheduled a recruiting trip. Miles replied that he could not do any face-to-face meeting until after the national title game. Miles let them know both times, however, that, "If you want me, then after the bowl game, I will be your coach. I just can't do anything before that. [But] I would never say no to Michigan."
quote:
The one coach who everyone agrees did not receive an offer from Michigan, again, was Les Miles. He had been handled shabbily during the 2007 search, and it appears he wasn't treated much better in 2010, either. All overtures to him were strictly a show designed to appease his supporters. When Rodriguez asked Brandon in December of 2010 if he already had someone lined up, Brandon denied it but said he would hire Les Miles "over my dead body." The rest was theater.
I would be interested in reading about the books, articles and credible people you reference which disprove Bacon's assertions. Please be so kind as to share them with us.

It is rather interesting that when Saban left recruiting looked to have reached a lull with only about 15 commits in which Les didn't have a full class his first year. Was it a lack of effort because Saban had plans to leave? I know I am over reacting to that but it is interesting regardless.
I feel pretty certain Saban tanked the bowl game. Not purposely, of course. But the effort pretty clearly wasn't there.
