It'll most likely happen on Saturday January 3rd, 2015 during the evening.

why would they give the shitty NFCS the prime time game?
Unless the Cowboys are involved

Well have the shitty Saturday afternoon game on NBC called by Tom Hammond and Mike Mayock and deservedly so.
ETA: Agree with previous poster that if we're playing Dallas we might get Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth - would seriously depend on AFC matchup tho. If Cincinnati is hosing a Wild Card game I'd actually say that we might get the SNF or "good" crew and then Bengals would get the B crew.

Seriously you think they're going primetime for Andy dalton vs Ryan tennehill?

Depends. If we go in the game 9-7/8-8, which would be considered a hot streak of sorts, and play someone like Dallas or Seattle, it could easily be a prime time game. Hell, imagine the headlines if Seattle comes into the dome... Media will be all over that, especially after that beast quake bs.

Fox has the late Sunday game this year. They're gonna lobby the NFL for the NFC East game so they can have the big primetime lead-in.
If the Saints get the Eagles or Cowboys, I predict the game will be be the late Sunday game.
If the Saints get the Cardinals or Lions, I predict early Saturday.
49ers or Packers or Seahawks would be be late Saturday.

you will never be able to predict this. I got married on Jan 16 2010. I researched back times for nfc/afc games back to the past 10 years and could never find any rhyme or reason why they schedule the games the way they do

Ever since they've been doing this, they almost always give the late Saturday slot to the "sexiest" matchup or a game involving one of the "favored" teams (NFC East, Packers, New York team, etc.)
The only exception to this I can see is 2011, when they picked the Lions and Saints. But I also remember they did this because it needed to be played on Saturday because they needed a day to set up the Superdome for the BCSCG on Monday.

A few other things to consider:
The two AFC wild card hosts will likely be Cincinnati and Indianapolis. These two teams have played in the the early Saturday slot 4 times in the last 5 years.'
The Eagles or Cowboys will likely host a wild card game unless the Cardinals fall off the cliff (which is possible). Fox will have a hard-on for this game because they get the primetime lead-in on Sunday.
That would possibly leave the Saints in the late Saturday slot. The Sugar Bowl is on Thursday, so they should have enough time to set up before Saturday night. Plus, there is a good chance that they would host an NFC East team or the Seahawks, which would be a big TV draw.
Another variable: If Pittsburgh wins the AFC North, NBC will push hard for that game in the late Saturday slot because the Steelers are a big draw.
