Around the same time they nixed the Jimbo hire, there was a basketball player at Bama who was from Birmingham and wanted to transfer UAB. They released him to transfer to any school EXCEPT UAB. How does that benefit Bama?
ETA: He ended up transferring to North Carolina.

That seems petty if you ask me. If I recall it was a kid that wasn't getting playing time at Bama anyway. You would think a school would want what's best for a kid. Isn't that why schools exist in the first place?
