They denied his release to UAB because they believed UAB's coach went behind their back to convince him to transfer.

ETA: He ended up transferring to North Carolina.

That seems petty if you ask me. If I recall it was a kid that wasn't getting playing time at Bama anyway. You would think a school would want what's best for a kid. Isn't that why schools exist in the first place?
