Different strokes for different folks. I believe machines can be effective if used properly and if you use them for their intended purpose. But don't expect to be a strongman or as athletic as an Olympic weightlifter if your sole purpose is using machines. I personally like the four way hammer strength neck machine and hammer strength lay machines. Otherwise ill stick with barbells, tires, kettlebells, and dbs. As well as medicine balls, a reverse hyper machine, and the prowler.
