my truck has 7.3 liters and can tow a house, so I'm on the sidelines until i see something that impresses me. but 3000lb payload at 24mpg gasoline is nothing to scoff at imo. of course i've never actually driven it, so i'm reserving judgment.

I'm assuming you have a late 90's/early 2000's F-250. The new gassers with max tow packages are capable of towing the same that 7.3 equipped trucks can tow.
