You could have a logger come in and harvest some of your trees for profit. With that land cleared, you would be able to use your $$$ from the timber to build levees. This of course is if you have some old growth hardwoods. I have a friend who did this. I can get you the logger's phone number if you'd like.

I'm one of those yahoos but if you want to hit one up let me know. I know there are some ducks on the lakes surrounding you so over time they would probably use it just hope you are in their flyway.

That's a good idea, we might just do that in a few more years when the timber is ready.

Ive gutted it out in Sabine NWR with success so I could handle DW or spring bayou. I'm thinking about trying during Thanksgiving week, hopefully there will be less people than on weekends.
As far as DW goes, would you recommend going N or S from 28? Not asking specific spots. I know the GTR is to the S but there is a string of fresh water impoundments to the N parallel to 28 that look ducky as well. I'm not sure how deep they are and if waders are good enough. I'll have to scout and see

You have to remember a lot of the people that go out are kids. Any time school is out, I try to stay out of common places on wma's just my 2 cents

That is my neighbors place. I am directly behind him on the bayou. I'm confused where the OP is now unless he is north of the crawfish ponds. I'm not familiar with that land owner but know the rest in that area.
