Living on the western side of a timezone gives you more daylight in the evening.

I think you are forgetting that you will have to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to make it to work in time.
I live in Chattanooga, living in a time zone border is kinda inconvenient.

I live in Los Angeles, but work in New York. It's ok, but not that big of a deal time-zone wise.
