Uh...
1. If this was an 'angel' won't that imply that you will die soon?
2. Paradox: if this dude was from the future who told you to change... and if you took his advice... how could he still exist to come back to tell you in the first place?
3. Wouldn't the universe explode or something if you and your future self exist in the same time?
4. Your future 'self-angel' is a selfish dick... if I could sent a message to myself in 1998: the first thing I would say is prevent 9-11-2001!! Then maybe the lotto #'s for the $200 million jackpot...

Perhaps that explains why he disappeared after I chose my path? Perhaps my decision determined his existence or lack thereof?
