I've had a $100 Poulan for 14 years. I've had to replace the primer button and a few chains. And considering I only use it maybe twice a year, I think it has been great.

My poulan sucked. I ended up taking it to Home Depot when I fricked it up. They quoted me 20 less than what I bought it for. I declined their service and just left it in the parking lot

Use a good stihl once and you'll never touch anything else.

For one thing, stihl makes a two-piece (not sure what it's called) that acts like a shock absorber and doesn't cramp your fingers like a Poulan. I know cause years ago that's what I had.
