Some people find some measure of comfort in being miserable, negative human beings. It fulfills the human brains desire to put its' world in order so it can reduce the chance of surprise. If everything is wrong with everything all of the time then they can be satisfied that there are no surprises because everything is as they predicted.
These are also people of low education and intelligence.

They are scared of things going bad, so they keep themselves at a level low enough that nothing could get worse.

Jesus...sometimes the truth is just truth....given what you say is true, that would explain no matter how hard I try, I can't understand these types
