Once it becomes a major campaign issue used to turn out vote, it will become more likely to go nationwide.

DC was a huge one to fall.

Florida didn't pass, but it did receive 58% approval and needed 60%.

That means the majority of people in Fla who voted wanted it, and it barely missed the high threshold.

Keep in mind the FLa vote received 58% during a mid-term election where old people and very conservative voters are much more likely to dominate the vote even more than usual.

Last note: Rumor is RJ Reynolds and the Altria Group (the largest tobacco companies) are ready to alter production to Marijuana over night once possible.
