She wanted to see him, one last time (we all would possess that instinct, I think), but had no desire to have him sit and watch her die. She explicitly rejected that. She also pushed him towards Brand because Brand was alone - she had "her" family, as she also explicitly expressed.

She traveled for two years to see him.

She sends him off after seeing him for 5 minutes.

That's poor writing.

Again, Brand was alone, we all get that. But spending a few days with his daughter does not change Brand's situation whatsoever. Brand was going no where and given how slow time was moving for Brand, we were left with the impression she had "just arrived" so she didn't even have time to go crazy like damon did.

I won't touch Murph's family. They were straight out assholes.

In cryo-freeze - and I think it served as double duty to have the family reunion and go ahead and check out. I mean - she kind of knew that his return has something of a shelf-life, didn't she? As smart as she was? Maybe she was implicitly waiting for this moment and realized his place was on Edmund's world with Brand, rather than watching her die?

The movie was already 3 hours long - a couple more scenes of him talking to her in the hospital bed wouldn't have made you like the movie - either you liked it or you didn't at that point.

They had no idea about who Cooper was - nothing in common, no common experiences other than biology.

I didn't care for them much either, but they passed pretty quickly. They're almost irrelevant to the story.

Did she travel 2 years? I thought it was merely like 2 weeks. I don't think she came all the way from Earth, just from some other station humanity is located, which may not have been far.

And even if she was back on Earth, maybe solving the gravity equation could have made ships travel much faster?
