Politically speaking, the Republican Party has burned a lot of calories on this topic, and it has yielded basically no results. Forty years of putting up a good fight—or rather, pretending to do so—has resulted in a state here and there requiring a girl who misses a period to drive 30 miles to have an abortion.
Abortion is one of two obviously colossal wastes of time, money, and energy spent by the Republican Party, and this fact serves only to show that its voters are as stupid as their equally stupid dissenters say they are.
