You're moving the target. Now it appears you're separating "leader" and "quality human being" (however you define that).

True, there are great leaders of organizations who are miserable people. And the flip side is also true, there are great people who are terrible leaders.

THis is big-time football. I want my football coach to be a great leader of the program, and that means being a winner on the field.

Yes, I'd love to couple that with my coach being a wonderful person too, but at this level, my primary objection is to see success on the field.

Now, of course, if the coach is too much of a douchebag, I don't want him at all, even if he's a proven winner. So it's a sliding scale.

Bill Belichik seems like a turd, but he's a great NFL coach, and I'd take him in a heartbeat (for the Falcons here in Atlanta).

But let's all stop this kumbaya.
