I think is much more of a hard arse on his guys behind closed doors than what we really see. But more in a motivation way.
I pulled that out of my arse, but I tale that stance due to watching some of his pre game speeches to the team. He's nice and all, but clearly gets his guys fred up.

Well, maybe coddling is the wrong word. I didn't mean for it to mean overly babying his players. More of the pat in the back, get em next time, encouraging dad.

coach miles is a tough coach if you get put in his dog house you are in trouble you have to work really hard at practice to get out of that dog house with sabn he don't care as he needs you In the game
