Meh, sometimes the refs frick up the clock, it happens.

Until this article, I didn't know the operator was actually trying to peak through people to see the quarterback's legs moving. That could definitely account for an extra second, but the fact that they looked at the video frame-by-frame and couldn't see a distinct error I think is telling.
