The thing is stereotypes are rooted in reality. But, people regardless of race aren't monolithic. Like the poor Whites from Mississippi that were featured on HBO a while back. Like I know those people are real and there are plenty of them but I know those aren't all Whites and I know those aren't all Whites in Mississippi.

the statistics are so disproportionate from black people to everyone else...it's like people refuse to acknowledge this, and whatever you think or I think is the root cause will never get solved because somehow acknowledging this is met with, "but yeah I know some white people who do/say x and I know they aren't all the same"
We KNOW black people aren't all the same...that's not what is in question. However there is a disturbingly large portion of black people that fit a pattern...and it's not a good one.
At least we've graduated from responding with "you're racist"
