I'm wondering if I can just cancel and get a black phone. My phone is borderline inoperable and AT&T
1. was kind of slimy. They had the 6+ that day in stock, but because I wouldn't switch plans made me preorder
2. took 2 hours to preorder a phone
3. lied to me and said that it would be in a few weeks at the most.
4. I'm kind of over apple with all of this. Intentionally creating scarcity is fine, but IMO a slimy practice. They're selling the phone for the same price regardless, all they did is make me wait for a phone while they're iOS update destroyed the one I already had.

I don't think apple planned this. ATT did you dirty, apple just wasn't expecting so much demand.
I assume this because I have a friend who went Android simply because of the wait(and I'd assume he wasn't the only one to do so)
