That is sad to hear. Like many others here I am a Type 1 also, diagnosed at 20, 28 years old now. I've never had my BS go that low, never had to go to the hospital for it accept for when I was diagnosed. I use a Medtronic pump and have always had good control but slacked off early this year and my A1C got up to 7.2 so I started wearing the In-Lite Sensor and really like it. A1C has come back down to around 6.7. I would definitely recommend a sensor for your Dad if he is not able to feel his low's in time. Good luck!
