re: The Drew Brees critiques and criticisms

Brees' insistence on throwing when he's pressured rather than taking a damn sack has killed this team. The defense hasn't been good, but we've lost 3 games on the road by a combined 6 points, and all with devastating INTs thrown by Brees at crucial times and all leading to points for the opponents that were the difference in the game.
If you are a franchise and supposed HOF QB, mistakes happen, but when they happen this much and just on clearly pathetic decisions, it is on Brees.
He built up a lot of good will in 2009 and 2011, but honestly since then, he's been mediocre and pretty much just a stat padder for the most part the last 3 years.

Point being, Brees is playing fine.

Completely disagree. Drew's ability to make things happen under pressure is one of his greatest strengths and weaknesses.
If he just took the sack like everyone wants, we'd be blown out every game with this defense.

And none of them fit what you're describing.
Atlanta was just a bad decision forcing it to Cooks over the top.
Cleveland was not on Brees. It was a blindside hit that he didn't see to a wide open receiver. He got hit right before his release, and it still went through Graham's hands.
That one was on Payton for going empty backfield on 1st and 10
Colston was actually open vs. Detroit, Brees just had to hesitate and got the ball there a half second late. He shouldn't have thrown it, and Colston should have read the play better.

The Tampa was really the only game that you can put on Brees, and we won.

Wow. You mean from 2006-2013.

PFF QB Standings
2013 - 2
2012 - 4
2011 - 1
2010 - 4
2009 - 3
2008 - 7
2007 - 3
Last year, he threw a NFL best 10 TDs while under pressure to 6 Ints despite 8 drops.

, he's been mediocre
5,169 yards/season with 41 TDs to 15 Ints while completing over 65% of his passes is not mediocre
HE HAD A 105 PASSER RATING LAST YEAR
Honestly one of the dumbest posts I've ever read on tigerdroppings and Peej posts here.
