The baseball records are more prestigious because stats are easier compared across generations in baseball. (thats why all the purists are pissed about steroids tainting the numbers.)
Football has never been that way. Its s totally different game played today than 50 years ago. (Last night they were talking about Sammy Baugh leading the league in TD passes, punting average, and interceptions ) Totally different game.

Wilt's 100 point game has to be in the conversation. Dimaggio's hit streak, Pete Rose's hit record. and the Home run record (although like i said, its tainted)
