What is being ignored here is the man was suspected of committing a crime at the time of the incident not an escaped dangerous felon. These dipshits wanted to impress the camera crew and this is the result.

How about instead of throwing flashbangs and stormtroopers into a family home they just wait a pick up the suspect when he walks outside or call and tell him to come out. You would still have the option to play GI Joe if that did not work. What you would not have is maimed toddlers from flasbangs being thrown into their cribs and dead children.

Home invasions should be saved for the most extreme circumstances and not be carried out by obviously incompetent individuals as these in this story. Claiming he did not know he fired an MP5 is a joke.
