So anecdotal evidence isn't enough for you? Can only be used to support your post?
I'm saying that such discrimination does not exist, has not existed for ages, could not exist in this day and age, and no one making these allegations has provided any evidence that they do exist. If you want solid evidence, go to any company's web site and research job opportunities. I doubt you'll find anyone that lists starting pay figures that will have separate starting figures for men and women. Using my employer as an example, being a female alone, is compensation for not meeting or exceeding the minimum qualifications for getting hired, and gets you put at the head of the line before many exceedingly more qualified male applicants.

I've provided data, you've provided nothing except for an interesting story about how your two sisters get paid well for being qualified in 4 professions
Yes, I'd doubt that to. Means absolutely nothing
They get paid less because of flexibility, but they still get paid less

3. Women lose time at a job and work experience while having kids. This puts them behind their male co-workers who don't have to (nor have the option to) take that time off to have children.
this is the big difference-maker. it's why abortion is such a sacred cow of feminists. thomas sowell was doing work on this back in the 70s
in the same field, there is no pay gap if a woman hasn't had kids.
1 and 2 do contribute, but 3 is the big one that skews everything

Because we discourage girls from entering STEM fields almost from the time they are born.
no

I've provided data,
not going back through this, because you and I aren't likely to sway the other on this issue, but I haven't seen any data supporting your position, and my "anecdotal" stories are life experiences of almost 40 years of being in the workplace and never seeing any evidence of this type of discrimination, I referenced my sisters because someone earlier suggested that women are still being discouraged to enter STEM areas of study, I used them as two examples to the contrary, just in my family, who are in those fields, have not experienced pay discrimination, and they're both in their 60's, like I said, we'll ust have to agree to disagree

not data that denotes discrimination based on gender/sex
you've provided data that fields where employees must be on call, work a lot, and be flexible, have a large wage gap

which is an indication that they cannot be relied upon to fulfill the duties of the position that they were hired for, and the company has to hire more than one person to do one job

any reason why you should?
If you get paid by the hour, obviously not.
Point was that the government won't allow her to make it up by working 44 hours next week. Or more accurately, if she wants to do that they make it more expensive for the company which isn't fair to either side--she just has to give up that earning opportunity when it's in the best interests of both sides to let her have comp time.

Or it just means that flexibility is more important than money to that employee, so they give up some degree of financial compensation in exchange for it.

I don't think the gov't. gives a shite if the employer lets her make up the time, even though she wasn't there when they needed her. Like most laws there's some good some bad, but the thrust of the family leave law was to allow time off for these kind of things without some form of punishment by the company, even though that scenario wasn't quite a "leave," it kind of falls under the scope of it, she had to take care of personal business on company time, was allowed to, and wasn't penalized for it

precisely, we all face choices, and make those choices based on our priorities
