I grew up calling it a chester drawers.

Of course I was 10 before I realized that wrongsidouters was not one word.

My dad had to quit school in the 3rd grade to help raise the family when his mother died. My mother made it to the 7th grade before she had to go to work to help support the family.

I wish I had half the real smarts of those two people.

bingo, it's sort of a nouveau riche thing to try and put a little snobby distance between themselves and those that they grew up around, while all along the way ignoring the wisdom of their forebears
