I think eventually (15+ years from now) each league will have 8 teams reach the playoffs like the NBA and NHL playoffs.
The NFL is trying to push for a 7th team in each conference then will be pushing for an 8th team after that.

16 of 30 NBA/NHL teams make the playoffs. That's too much.
Keep the MLB playoffs exclusive.
