Probably a combination of everything. Not good recruiting area to begin with, rise of MSU, Hoke wasn't very good at keeping control of the team, too much attrition. I don't ever see Michigan or the B1G for that matter regaining its place, but they could definitely be doing better than they are right now and same goes for the B1G.

You have no idea what you're talking about so just stop.

The Detroit area is stocked with great recruits, and then you have the Ohio and Chicago talent. Carr was able to get all those guys. Also, Michigan has traditionally recruited nationally so you see a lot of guys from Florida or out West come there. But to say that he doesn't have a recruiting backyard is to be ignorant of the population/demographic landscape of the state.
