Then why the hell did Miles hire him? Surely Miles knew that zone blocking was his specialty. If we're not gonna use the spread offense, then Grimes was a bad fit from the start. In that case it would be more Miles' fault than Grimes'.

My only thought is that they want to go more spread. I mean look at what we are doing in recruiting. We are trying to get 4 WRs a class, and 2016 has us in the thick of legit mobile/dual threat QBs. We have now gotten 3 receiving TEs plus Jeter who looks like he can do both.

Maybe they are slowly trying to change the offense, but that takes time.

I could also just be flat out wrong about going more spread, and they just got a bad hire (a guy that doesn't fit what we like to do).

It'd be great if they thought that too...they keep recruiting spread option offensive players and not putting in any packages to utilize that skill set. Although, zone blocking does not indicate a spread attack though.

We have looked best when lined up in shotgun sets with one RB in the backfield blocking or running. Yet, we use this set less than 25% of the time and rarely mix it up.

Our packages under Miles have always been the most predictable in the conference. Now we are just not executing our scheme very well and it is hurting the production. I guarantee you that 75-90% of defensive players and coaches know exactly what we are running on most plays based on the personnel and tendencies of the team. If I can predict it from television, the defense can as well...they spend 100's more hours prepping than me.
