Not really sure what your problem is. If she tested her hypothesis, and feels that the results are correct, then why not believe that the star is shedding mass?

This is interesting. I mean clearly there are quite a few variables and I'd want other leading thinkers on the subject to chime in with their thoughts and analysis, but so far... Gotta say, I think I'd hit it.
