I'm afraid they aren't going to need one. They might lose the Senate but that's been expected for a long time. I don't see it being the epic bloodbath there should be. They'll basically beat the spread, and that will look good for DWS.

Seven weeks, but I agree even that seemingly short period of time can see many ups and downs in many of these races. Polls have seen roller-coaster type results from week to week, so it will depend on which candidates are "ebbing" and which are "flowing" come November 4th. One bad gaffe, one great commercial, one October Surprise in either direction, even if not a major one - all of those things can change who controls the Senate, and all of its committees, come January 3rd.
