I actually see why they turned it down, because they think he can make much more than that two years from now (and I'm inclined to agree, actually, assuming he keeps his upward trajectory and not only reproduces this past year showing it wasn't a fluke, but even improves on it). But if that's the case, I don't understand why taking the bridge deal is that big of a problem, because he'll get his money in two years. Just take your bridge, prove you're worth more, and you'll be getting a 8-year, $60 million offer (possibly even more) in two years. But to turn down that long-term contract, and simultaneously not accept the bridge, is kind of upsetting.

It's all messed up. I feel like management isn't doing anything wrong at least. The season is too close for me to worry about it. I'm just excited at this point.
