I have had both, and they will both get the job done. Had MG on my tin rig and never had an issue on the new boat it came with a MK fourtrex and its nice as well.
On my 17.5ft tin rig i use to have, we went with a hand controlled because the front deck was crowded and it was nice not having a large foot pedal on the deck.
Also i had a 54lb 12V on my H51 Xpress and it handled the job well. If you are going to fish alot of open water and fight the wind a good bit i would go with a 24V 70lb range TM.

Thanks for everyone's advice.
That iPilot does look tempting.
I guess I will wait to get the boat in the water to see what shaft length I will need.
