It is illegal to discriminate in your hiring practices so they can't blatantly say they won't hire you if you are gay so they came out and said the next best thing. Honestly, if you are gay and looking to move up the ranks within a company, you will avoid Chick-fil-a. They have successfully discriminated against gays. Sorry if the subtleties of the real world elude you but thats just how things work nowadays
