The people out there told us about the only non-rainy season is like December to February. Not sure how true that was but we definitely hit in the middle of rainy season and it wasn't that bad. We had til about 2-3pm every day to do stuff before it started raining and "raining" there isn't the same thing as it is here. There were a few days where I didn't even bother with an umbrella because the rain wasn't that bad. We wore ourselves out in the mornings though so being almost forced to go back to the room and rest was pretty nice anyway. Take a nap, clean up and go get some grub.
Also, +1 on making a trip out to Manuel Antonio and NOT staying in the area.
