I did the math the other day.
For my family (3 iPhones), no shared data plan..plus the cost of the three phones on the 2-year plan, I pay about 5100 over the two years.
On the next play, with a 10 GB data plan and upgrading from my current phones (2 - iPhone 5, 16GB, 1 - iPhone 5c, 16 GB) on the next plan, over two years, I pay just under 5600.
For me, it isn't worth is unless I want to have a new phone every year.
