If you are truly into the outdoors it can't be beat, you have boating, fishing, whitewater and ocean kayaking, snow skiing, hiking/backpacking, rock climbing, bicycling. If I every move it will be to there.

We went a few years ago and loved it. I like the rain so I think I would do well in the PNW.

I like Seattle, but I wouldn't want to live in the 206 area code. FAR more expensive than Olympia or even Tacoma.
We live in the Olympia area and it's a far lower cost of living and just a 55 minute drive north to downtown.
