November 5 #2 Alabama W 9–6 OT this was a great win, but wasn't exactly a "throttling"

Yea I was kinda thinking the same thing about this one....unless I missed something!

Both Arkansas and UGA that year were delayed throttlings that year. The true throttling didn't start until the second half.

Yeah that UGA game started 10-0 and we were down 10-7 at the half. The Georgia fans around me felt the same range of emotions as the Wisconsin fans in Houston.

ETA:

The Bulldogs (10-3) raced to a 10-0 lead that could've been even bigger if they hadn't dropped a pair of potential touchdown passes in the first quarter. LSU looked downright awful on offense, going three-and-out on all seven of its possessions before halftime.

The Tigers didn't even have one first down, finishing the half with just 12 total yards.

That's the thing. Les' turnarounds almost never happen at the half. Things just randomly start shifting at some point nearer the end of the 3rd quarter.

We may not like it, but there is a method to the madness.

I love it. No bullshite Football.

People think Miles didn't have a game plan for the 2011 BCSCG, but he did - it was the same one he used in the first game vs Bama (although to Bama's credit, it took them until OT to fold), and the same one he used against Arkansas and UGA in the SECCG. The problem was that Saban was ready for it the second time.

Randomly? You might call it random if it was an outlier occurrence. But with a sample size like this, it is more properly called "regression to the mean"

Yet no one seems to want to put the two together. Miles is an old offensive lineman. He knows the game in the trenches. He figures if he has the talent on the line, he will have his boys punch your boys in the face for 45 minutes - and then your boys will fold. It happens over and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. Yet I still hear people asking "Why are we trying to run up the middle?" in the first half of games. I just keep replying, "It's so we CAN run up the middle in the 4th quarter." 22-21 when losing in the 4th makes perfect sense from this perspective.
Deliver the body blows early, and knock that arse out in the end.

You say random, I say by design and by good coaching.

Miles’ 22nd fourth quarter/overtime comeback victory at LSU

This is good and all but is it too much to ask for complete domination the entire game? I've seen way to many games where we just let teams hang around when we should pound them.

The fourth quarter should be our time to play backups.

Calm down sport...Les has a vision for how football games should be won. It's with a strong running game, solid defense, and a QB who doesn't make mistakes.

#9 A&M last year was a pounding in that they were not let to hang around.

We did let Washington or #22 State hang around in those poundings in 2012.

2011 was FILLED with poundings where we didn't let the other team hang around to make a game of it at the end.

You probably just remember the tight ones due to the anxiety level. But the blowouts have been there. I never saw a team take a knee with over 5 minutes to go until Miles got here. That 52-3 was a pounding of epic proportions.

If Zach would have scored on the keeper, it would have been 59-3...

Yeah, I remember thinking, "That kid can MOVE!"

...and then he never did again.

I felt at the time that taking the knee was about teaching Zach a lesson more than anything else.
