Tons of sprays will actually cause a worse reaction oddly enough. They can turn the spiders crazy and aggressive, where as they normally don't give two craps what you are up to and want to avoid you at all costs. If you are that worried, I'd just go the exterminator route. My office mate had a brown widow infestation and he managed to curb that drastically.
