I think he will be involved in community outreach and youth programs on a grassroots level. I don't think he will be involved with a club on an investment or management level.

This is what needs to happen honestly. He's such an influential figure in the US Soccer and MLS communities that it'd be almost wasteful to tie him down to a single club or entity. He's the one image we have that is truly ubiquitous when it comes to the sport in America, and I think he could get a lot more kids to take the sport seriously, play in America, and move the sport forward.

I upvoted your post about Landon, which says a lot cause of how much we argued about this.

I will never like Jurgen and will always be team Landon, but it is a good see he is getting a testimonial at the least.

That's awesome. Especially since I've argued with you and Broski for pretty much all of the Summer. I just think it's time to move past this all and pay Landon his dues. Plus, I have to focus all of my banter towards Chelsea fans, anyway.

Seriously, though, I think that is what the testimonial is all about. Since he's announced his retirement, I've sort of gone back and reminisced. Regardless of how you felt about the cut, Landon Donovan is an American sports icon period. It's bigger than just soccer, and at this point, anyone who is taking this opportunity to be negative is just trying to piss people off. Every point that could be made has been made, and every argument has been exhausted.
