1) Part of the reason we excel in the fourth quarter is all the punishment we deliver running the ball in the first half.
2) Being predictable causes the defense to start cheating. When you are highly likely to run on first and second down, the play action becomes all the more dangerous.
Of course the key to all this is that you have to have a modicum of success while predictable.
